How to Play Online Baccarat

Baccarat is a simple casino game to enjoy in that all facets of the casino game are controlled by a firm set of game rules. All events during the game are based on a standard set of rules, with no choices to be made by the player or banker.

The object of the casino game is to get as close to nine with your card count than the bankers hand does.  A hand can not “bust” like in Blackjack. That is since 10 is taken from the total should it go over 10. For example, a 5 and 7 equals 13, which would be a baccarat hand total of 3 once ten is taken from the total.

Once the player has decided to put money on a tie, the dealers hand or players hand, each gets 2 cards.

When the players hand or bankers total is 8 or 9, they have got a “Natural” and neither receives any more cards. Should both the player and dealer get a ‘natural’, then the result is a tie.

If neither the dealer or player is dealt a ‘natural’, then the rules below control what will happen next:

The players hand is dealt with first.

Players Hand: Players Required Action:
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Gets a card
6 or 7 Stays

After the players turn is complete, what happens next depends on the players hand.

Bankers Hand:
0, 1, 2 Any hand Draw a card
3 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 Draw a card
8 No further cards
9 Stay
4 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 Takes a card
0, 1, 8 or 9 No further cards
5 5, 6 or 7 Takes a card
0, 1, 2, 3, 8 or 9 Stay
4 Draws a card
6 6 or 7 Draws a card
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 or 9 Stays
7 Anything Stays

After the deal, the hand with a value closest to 9 wins.
